Mary A. Koncel lives in Worthington, MA. She received her MFA in English from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. In addition to being a freelance writer, she teaches writing at Smith College. Her prose poems have appeared in several journals, including The Massachusetts Review, The Journal, The Illinois Review, The Prose Poem: An International Journal, key satch(el) and Denver Quarterly, and in anthologies such as Ladies, Start Your Engines: Women Writing on Cars and the Road and The Party Train: A Collection of North American Prose Poetry. In 1996, she received a poetry grant from the Massachusetts Cultural Council. Her books are Closer to Day and You Can Tell the Horse Anything.
