Laura Chester has been writing, editing and publishing poetry, fiction and non-fiction since the early 1970s. Her many volumes include: All in All, a new edition of Lupus Novice, Toward Self-Healing (Station Hill Press, 1999), The Story of the Lake, a novel from Faber & Faber, as well as several books of poetry and fiction from Black Sparrow Press. Her most recent books includes a non-fiction book with photographer Donna DeMari, Holy Personal (Indiana University Press, 2000). She has edited four anthologies, most recently Deep Down (Faber & Faber) and The Unmade Bed (HarperCollins). She grew up in Milwaukee and Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, and now lives with her husband in Western Massachusetts.
